Summary

Searching for MobileNetV3 presents the next generation of MobileNets based on a combination of complementary search techniques and a novel architecture design. MobileNetV3 is tuned to mobile phone CPUs through hardware-aware network architecture search complemented by the NetAdapt algorithm. The paper explores how automated search algorithms and network design can work together to improve the state of the art. Two new MobileNet models, MobileNetV3-Large and MobileNetV3-Small, are created for high and low resource use cases, adapted for object detection and semantic segmentation tasks. Results show improved accuracy and reduced latency compared to MobileNetV2 models. The paper discusses efficient neural networks in mobile applications, advancements in network efficiency, and the importance of accuracy-latency trade-offs in mobile devices.
